Nvidia Geforce GTX 280M and 260M to be launched at Cebit
German website Hardware-infos is reporting that Nvidia is going to launch GTX 280M, GTX 260M and GTX160M.
Although the translation is not very good, but what we can make out from it is that thsi is going to be a G92 core based part with 128 Shaders, 64 texture units, 16 rasterization units on a 256-bit wide memory bus interface. These parts are expected to compete with mobility Radeons HD4870 and HD4850 which are equipped with full 800 shaders, the same as their desktop counterparts. GTX160M is supposed to be a competitor to mobility Radeon HD4670.
Hardware-infos goes on to add that GTX280M is expected to be 30% faster than HD4870M.
We are not sure if the information about the shaders for GTX20M provided is correct, because 128 shader based desktop parts like 9800GTX are not able to compete with 800 shader based HD4870.
