NVIDIA releases new driver fix for Optimus notebooks
Today NVIDIA released a new driver for Optimus notebooks, version 189.42. Intel's latest (March) IGP driver is not compatible with Optimus. NVIDIA has a driver fix which is being posted today for anyone who wants to use Intel's latest driver. Previous Intel drivers work fine. NVIDIA assures us that they are working with Intel to ensure that this issue does not happen again. In addition to the Intel driver solution, this new NVIDIA Optimus driver includes improved merging of Optimus profiles and additional performance enhancements. We recommend that all Optimus users move to this driver immediately.
