20 Things about PS4 that you probably Didn’t Know (PlayStationAccess)
PlayStation Access has posted a video showing 20 things you might have missed about the PS4. While most of these may be refreshers, some of them were surprising and interesting.

1. The new interface is called PlayStation Dynamic Menu and it is replacing PlayStation 3’s XMB menu system
2. PlayStation 4 comes with a 500GB HDD that can be replaced and upgraded the same as the last generation PS3
3. You can log onto any PS4. You can access purchased games and your games as long as you are signed-in.
4. You can nominate one PS4 as your “home” machine. Your content will always be linked to that console and will always be available, even to other users. This includes PlayStation+ membership.
5. PS4 is the first PlayStation console to come packaged with an HDMI cable.
6. PS4 is not region locked
7. The new PlayStation Camera can shoot in 3D and in “very impressive quality.”
8. The PlayStation Camera has 4 microphones for accurate sound detection and source origination.
9. On PS4, Video Unlimited will stream movies.
10. In most situations, you will be able to switch instantly between playing a game or other apps through the Dynamic Menu.
11. The touchpad on the Dualshock 4 is also a touchable button
12. PlayStation app is piece of software for Android and iOS devices due on launch day. This will let you use devices for a second screen, potential in-game apps, shop on PlayStation store, download directly to PS4, and more.
13. PS4 has cross-game chat.
14. PS4 has always-on video compression and decompression systems. It is always processing your last few minutes of play so you can share it instantly. The PS4 also uploads in the background.
15. PS4 features “suspend/resume” so this means you can instantly return to playing a game.
16. PS4 can handle game updates and game downloads in the background, and even in suspend mode.
17. PS4’s use of Gaikai streaming will give games immediate access to a library of PlayStation titles and more legacy titles to come later.
18. Existing PlayStation+ subscriptions will roll over on to the new console.
19. Sony Pictures Entertainment is working on new original programming and unique content for the PS4
20. There are more than 140 games currently in development for the PS4.
The new Dynamic Menu and instant app switching features were some features that were surprising and interesting. Otherwise, most features brought up in the video were already available last generation. Did some of these surprise you?
