R-0 Stepping E5200 Spotted in Japan

Intel plans to update its E5200 Pentium Dual Core Processor from M0 stepping to R0 starting from April 13th. But R0 stepping has already made its way into AKIBA, Japan and can be bought for  6880 Yen(US$70).

The R0 stepping update includes:

– New S-spec and MM numbers
– A CPUID change – from 10677 to 1067A
– Power State Indicator (PSI) support with Intel 4 series chipsets
– New instructions (XSAVE/XRSTOR)
– A halide free package

Because of the new CPUID, the 45nm-built E5200 R0 will require a BIOS update.
