Sony offers a guide to fix the PlayStation 4 “Blue Light of Death”
The PlayStation 4 is officially a hit, selling more than 1 million consoles on launch day. However, reports have since sprouted that users have received consoles that fail or refuse to turn on. A “faulty” PS4 will pulse blue and never work, this event is now infamously called the “blue light of death.” Sony has stated that they received an overwhelming amount of positive response for their console and that the BLOD problem is isolated and only effects a small number of gamers.
Still, the issue is happening to many. If you are one of the unlucky few, Sony has released a guide to troubleshoot the issues with the PS4. According to a post in their Official Forum, the BLOD can be caused by:
- TV compatibility
- Issues with PS4 power supply
- Issues with PS4 hard drive
- Issues with other PS4 hardware
