Stalker: Call of Pripyat announced
In what is quite possibly a dream come true, GSC game world has announced a sequel to the original Shadow of Chernobyl, entitled Call of Pripyat (Clear Sky was a prequel).
The third game in the series picks up where Shadow of Chernobyl left off, following the true ending, and this time you’re a Ukrainian Security Service agent sent in to investigate a failed military mission.
Since the first two games mainly contained areas outside of Pripyat, it makes sense that the third installment will have locations in and around the city. Also based on the magazine translation, around 70 unique side quests have been developed and are more complex than the original “fetch the tail off the dog” quests. There are also new monsters and new day/night cycle behavior.
Additionally, there will be updates to the X-Ray engine, especially in the performance department.
For me the first two Stalker games were the best games I played in 2007 and 2008 respectively, so I absolutely cannot wait for this one.
