The Passive Gigabyte & Overclocked HIS HD 6770 meet the EVGA GTX 550 Ti

AMD’s HD 6770 is able to handle 3-panel Eyefinity without the need for CrossFiring them.  Nvidia requires a second video card in SLI to provide a competing solution called “Surround” and we did not test it here as we have only one GTX 550 Ti.  If you are interested in CrossFire versus SLI scaling, we evaluated midrange video cards here.  Here are three games that we played at 5760×1080 resolution using the same settings (AA as noted on the chart) that we used for our regular benches in this article.

Batman and Left 4 Dead play well at our tested resolutions although Far Cry 2 would need a further lessening of details to be smooth.  Head over to the next section – CrossFire, Overclocking and Temperatures.
