Ubuntu 9.04 Release Candidate Released
The Ubuntu 9.04 Release Candidate (RC) has been, well, released. Testing has showed that this RC client is rather stable and as such, might end up being the final release.
This version comes six days before the full launch of Ubuntu 9.04 (codenamed Jaunty Jackalope). It is scheduled to be the only release candidate. It features the 2.6.28-11.37 kernel, GNOME 2.26 and has gone through a number of improvements such as improved boot time and also a new desktop notification system has now been implemented. Generally speaking, there is improved performance all round, more stability and less bugs.
