ViewSonic Introduces New Ultra-fast 3D LED Display
As we showed in our recent 3D Vision Mega evaluation, there are big advantages in using a fast 120Hz display for playing fast-paced shooters in 2D over using a 60Hz display. And of course, Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) is an incredible experience that immerses the gamer much more than regular 2D and opens his old library of games for a great replay experience.
Viewsonic just introduced a new 3D 23″ 120Hz 1080p display with 2ms response time that bundles TriDef 3D software (with support for over 500 games) as well as two pairs of passive polarized glasses – one regular and one is “clip-on” – for only $349, a much less expensive solution than comparable Nvidia’s 3D Vision bundles.
We hope to be able to evaluate this display and TriDef 3D software side-by-side with 3D Vision. In the meantime, here is the press release:
