What is WARP?
WARP stands for Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform. This paper describes the following aspects of WARP10. It is scheduled to be a part of the DirectX graphics solution in Windows 7. WARP10 is a really fast software rasterizer that conforms well to just about any scenario.
Goals
WARP10 aims to play a few major roles such as enabling rendering when DX10 hardware is not available and also helping to provide maximum performance from such hardware if present. Here are some quick numbers…
