Western Digital 2TB Enterprise HDD

Western Digital has now listed on their website, their new 2TB Enterprise hard disk drive (HDD). The WD RE4-GP as it is known is marketed as being faster and greener.

As taken from their website:

With improved performance, lower power consumption and higher capacity, this new generation of WD RE-GP drives provides even lower cost-of-ownership to organizations with large data centers.

The drive is also marketed as being ideal for large data centers, web service providers and commercial grade surveillance systems.

Ha! That is all well and good but the average home user with lots of high definition pictures and movies, will gladly take advantage of this massive storage volume.
