Windows 7 not RTM yet
In the last few days, rumors have been flying around the internet about Windows 7 having been Released to Manufacturing (RTM). In a latest post on the windows team blog, it has been revealed that Windows 7 is not ready for RTM yet. It is expected to be ready in second half of July.
The post mentioned that for the Windows 7 to be ready, all the languages would have to be completed which leads us to believe that Windows 7 English may be ready, but some work might be left on other languages.
The official release of Windows 7 is on October 22, 2009.
MSDN & TechNet Subscribers will be able to download the final version of Windows 7 a few weeks after RTM is announced.
Volume License (VL) Customers will be available to get Windows 7 on September 1st.
This announcement means that the leaked copies floating around the net could be fake and come with all sorts of malware.
