AMD Athlon II X4 (codename Propus) Die Shot
Athlon name lives on in the form of ‘Propus’ – AMD’s quad core with no L3 cache.
The AMD Athlon II X4 contains 512 KB of L2 cache per core. Expected to be debut in the third quarter, this will form AMD’s Athlon II X4 600 series. Defective chips will have one core disabled, and will form the Athlon II X3 400 series codenamed ‘Rana’. Die size for these processors is estimated at 168mm2.
