Antec Skeleton Review
Exterior or Interior ? continued…
The component tray features a motherboard tray on top which can be removed. Below the motherboard tray is where the power supply, hard drives and optical drives are placed.
To install the power supply, you need to pull out the frame from the component tray. Simply pull on the metal tab and slide the frame out. The power supply is installed into this frame like into any regular case. Screw the four screws at the back and the power supply is held in its place. If you look closely at the frame, you will notice that the frame floor features foam feet. These will prevent the noise due to vibration that the power supply might make when placed on the frame.
To mount the hard drive, you need to screw a peg into the side of the hard drive and clip it into place in the bracket. Simply slide the hard drive into the bracket until you hear the click sound. Additional screws on the other side can be used to secure the hard drive more firmly in place.
Only two hard drives can be placed inside the tray. Any additional hard drives are hung from the sides of the Skeleton using the provided clamps. Slide the hard drive into these clamps and screw in 2 screws – one on each side – and just hang it by the side of the skeleton.
Taking the drives out is easy. Just press on the clip on the left as shown above and the drive slides out. Optical drives can be installed in the same way. Only 2 of these can be installed in the case.
