ATi Radeon 5770 Performance Test
Next I’ll move to 1920×1200 and use settings that are demanding in these games. I’ll use 2xAA except in Call of Duty 4, where 4xAA is fast enough to be used comfortably.
The 5770 doesn’t look as comfortable here, posting a more modest 20.17% overall performance gain over the 4850, and a small 8.12% performance loss from the 260+ overall.
Far Cry 2 is another title the red team likes, with the 5770 again outrunning even the 285, and the 4850 getting close to the 260+.
The 5770 is also exactly equal to the 260+ in Call of Duty 4, and only marginally slower in Call of Duty 5.
Where the 5770 really unravels is from the big losses in Crysis Warhead and Clive Barker’s Jericho. In Jericho the red team fares particularly poorly, with the 5770 coming off a whopping 29.60% slower than the 260+. I suspect these two games suffer from inadequate driver optimization because the 5770 is barely faster than the 4850.
