Intel Plans “Fast” Transition to Next-Generation Atom “Pine Trail” Platform.
Intel said that it will reveal more details about it’s next generation Intel Atom platform for netbooks and nettops on 21st December 2009. Intel expects computer makers to launch new products featuring the Intel Atom N450 processor on 4th January 2010.
The new platform dubbed the Pine Trail platform is powered by the next-generation Atom processor codenamed “Pineview” with improved performance, integrated graphics processor, built-in DDR2 memory controller, x86-64 capability, a new core-logic set as well as a Broadcom video decoding processor.
The new processors are
- Intel Atom N450: single-core with Hyper-Threading support, 1.66GHz, 512KB cache, x86-64, BGA437 package, $63 price-point;
- Intel Atom D510: dual-core with Hyper-Threading support, 1.66GHz, 1MB cache, x86-64, BGA437 package, $63 price-point;
- Intel Atom D410: single-core with Hyper-Threading support, 1.66GHz, 512KB cache, x86-64, BGA437 package, $43 price-point;
