PhotoFast G-Monster-Promise SSD Announced
PhotoFast has announced its plans to bring G-Monster-Promise PCIe SSD to the market. The speeds on this thing should impress everybody as will the price.
Featuring a PCIe X8 interface, MCL (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory chips, and 256MB ECC DDR2 & 4*64MB SDRAM cache, these drives deliver a sequential read and write speeds of nearly 984 MB/s and 973 MB/s respectively.
Tests with Crystalmark returned the following results
Sequential Read : 983.965 MB/s
Sequential Write : 972.673 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 981.839 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 862.035 MB/s
Random Read 4KB : 65.886 MB/s
Random Write 4KB : 58.308 MB/s
Test Size : 50 MB
These drives will ship with one-year warranty in Japan later this month. Available in capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, they’re priced at $1616, $2002, $3015 and $4534 respectively.
