Crysis Warhead Ambush Level Load

Crysis Warhead 64-bit was used for this test. In this benchmark, I loaded up a save game on the first level of the game. The time taken to load the level can be seen in the console, which can be accessed by ‘~’ key. Here is a screen demonstrating an example.

Game level loading times are not very limited by HDD speed. Other factors include CPU speed, number of CPU cores, GPU and system memory speed. But still, it is interesting to see the decrease in level load times with the increase in HDD speeds. The Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 drive wins here, but the difference is only around 2 seconds which should be pretty negligible when waiting for a game to load.
