WARP – Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform
Microsoft has released some more information about Windows 7 and now they have given us the word on the Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform or WARP for short.
WARP will be implemented in Windows 7 giving it the ability to render DirectX 10 using software-only rasterization. No dedicated graphics hardware will be needed to run the basic DX10 effects because it can all be done by the CPU.
