Visiontek ATI Radeon HD 5670 Review: In pursuit of 1GHz
Just Cause 2
Just Cause 2 is an action video game developed by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and Eidos Interactive. It carries on the sandbox style gameplay introduced by the first game in this series in 2006 which allowed to player to roam freely around an island and travel horizontally and vertically. Just Cause 2 uses the Avalanche 2.0 engine, which is an updated version of the engine used in the original game. This newer version of the engine only supports DX10.0, therefore the game only runs on Windows Vista and Windows 7. In addition to offering very realistic and immersive visuals, the game allows the player to freely roam the island on any modes of transport without necessarily adhering to a storyline.
We are using the benchmark included in the Just Cause 2 demo for our testing purposes.
The overclocked HD 5670 again beats out the HD 4770 here on average FPS, but looses on minimum FPS. The GT 240 lags behind the HD 5670 by around 6 FPS.
Which software did you use for overclockin? the catalyst center goes only till 850/1050. Nice review.
I used MSI Afterburner, and enabled Unofficial overclocking in the ini file for it. The picture of the overclock can be found on page 4. http://alienbabeltech.com/main/?p=18441&page=4
MrK, where is the ini file for this and when there, how do you enable unofficial overclocking?
@shrtmn13 Open the MSI Afterburner.cfg with Notepad. It is located in the folder where MSI Afterburner is installed.
This is not a mid range card, I have it as well. Its a low spec card with a shitty cooler. If there were some way to replace its cooler it could be worth calling mid range. I have the sapphire version and the fan at full load sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
Ideas would be nice 😛
Never mind my original post I just bought an AMD x6 now the whole thing sounds like a Hoover
